Vehicle Prepper

Purpose of the role:

As a member of the Chichester Cars Ltd workshop team, you will be working to continue the outstanding reputation that has been built up through years of dedication and hard work. The successful candidate will take on responsibility very early on and work closely with the Bodyshop Manager and Supervisor in ensuring the continued success of the business.

Principal accountabilities:

•  Assisting in the preparation and refinishing of simultaneous vehicle repairs in an effective and intelligent manner, managing conflicting priorities to tight deadlines

•  Develop good working relationships with members of the core workshop team, to ensure quick resolution of problems and technical issues

•  Repairing scratches and dents to a high standard on nearly new and used cars

•  Preparing vehicles to be re-sprayed including filling, sanding, priming, wet and dry flatting and masking

Knowledge, skills & experience:

•  Extensive experience of vehicle preparation

•  Comprehensive knowledge of vehicle bodywork

•  Experience of working in automotive workshop environment

Personal attributes:

•  Team player

•  Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

•  Well organised with strong prioritisation skills

•  Capable of taking initiative and working autonomously

Working hours:

   •     Working hours will be Monday to Friday (except Bank Holidays), 7am to 5pm, with a 30 minute break.

Part-time Driver

Purpose of the role:

As a member of the Chichester Cars Ltd transport team, you will be working to continue the outstanding reputation that has been built up through years of dedication and hard work. The successful candidate will take on responsibility very early on and work closely with the administration and front of house team.

Principal accountabilities:

    • The Collection and Delivery Driver role is to collect customers’ vehicles and wheels for refurbishment, from a vast number of trade customers across West Sussex and Hampshire.
    • Our customers trust us implicitly, so you will always be professional, providing a first class service every time, whilst showing our clients and the vehicles the due care and respect that we instil into all of our team members.
    • It is of the utmost importance that the successful applicant drive all vehicles in a safe and lawful manner, taking into account weather and traffic conditions.
    • Ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed, payments and receipts collected, report accidents/incidents.
    • Comply fully with current health and safety legislation, e.g. driving whilst under the influence of sleep inducing medication, driving vehicles for which you are not insured or trained.
    • Report directly to the Transport Manager and General Manager.

Knowledge, Experience & skills

    • It is necessary to be up-to-date with new technology.
    • Be able to drive a variety of vehicles to an extremely high standard.
    • Previous experience in a customer facing role and experience in a driving role.
    • A keen knowledge of the roads in and around Chichester would be an advantage.
    • Naturally, due to the nature of the job you would need to have a full UK/EU Driving Licence with no more than 3 points.

Full-time Wheel Technician

We are looking for an energetic and hard working wheel refurbishment technician, with a good sense of humour, common sense and a great work ethic. At Chichester Cars Ltd we are becoming the premier bodyshop for Alloy wheel refurbishment and bodywork in Sussex, and as such we are looking for someone to join the close team here at our busy bodyshop based in Chichester.

This is a permanent position, Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm.
